Free Downloadable Gameboard Cross Stitch Pattern
Sometimes I daydream about a whole wall in my house covered in framed (behind acrylic instead of glass), cross stitched gameboards. With one glance, I would be able see all my gaming options that were stitched by me in my favorite colors. For each game, the pieces or cards needed for that game will hang off of the frame in a drawstring bag, so all I need to do is pull the frame off the wall to start playing.
These daydreams inspired my Simple Games cross stitch booklet - available for free if copies are still available.
And now, these daydreams are the inspiration behind this free gameboard pattern. Once it is stitched up and framed behind acrylic, all that is needed are some chess or checkers pieces to use it as a fully functional gameboard.

Choose your favorite fabric and floss combination to stitch this piece.
Also, don't be afraid to be creative with this piece. Since it is simply one small square design duplicated over and over again to create the gameboard, you can create your own square design to stitch this piece with.
Here is a close up of the square design this piece was created with.
Whether or not you will stitch this piece, I really appreciate you taking the time to read this post.
I hope you are finding some good stitching time!
